The Law of Inertia and Tidal Bulges caused by the Moon's gravity hold a life-long fascination for me. Recently, I came across this study cited in several science feeds about yet another effect these tidal fluctuations are linked to: rain! As if weather is not complex already, now that 1% tidal moon factor may just make/break a rainy day! Smithsonian has a good summed up version of the study that makes for good rainy day reading!
